Inspired by California’s Central Coast

The Santa Maria Drop-In Firebox is rooted in a culinary tradition dating back to the 19th century on California’s Central Coast. As Santa Maria natives, we grew up around Live Oak fires, family gatherings, and weekends filled with barbecue. These grills are our tribute to that heritage—bringing authentic flavor and timeless design to your backyard.

  • 1/4" thick firebrick-lined firebox for superior heat retention.

  • Height-adjustable cooking grate system for precise temperature control and easy ash cleanout.

Cooking Grate Options

Choose from three professional-grade grates:

  • Stainless Round Rod Stainless Grate – Easy to clean, rust resistant, and delivers perfect sear marks.

  • Stainless Laser Cut Grate – Flat, perforated grate for easy cleanup and versatility.

Easy to Operate

Cooking on a Santa Maria Grill is simple:

  1. Build your wood or charcoal fire directly on the firebrick floor.

  2. Once the logs glow, place food on the grate.

  3. Adjust grate height using the side hand wheel for perfect heat control.

  4. Stoke the fire as needed and add fuel by lifting the grate.

  5. Clean up by raising the grate and scooping out ash with a flathead shovel.

Fuel and Lighting Options

Our grills are compatible with all hardwoods, lump charcoal, or briquettes. For faster startup, you can plumb gas to a log lighter to ignite fires quickly and easily. See accessories page.
